The idea behind this is that the women around me are trying to remember that they are beautiful just the way they are and that they don't need makeup to make them beautiful. I cannot stress how much I love this. Don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong with wearing makeup. I wear a little mascara myself from time to time. But when it gets to the point where you can't leave the house with out it, I feel like that's a problem.
See, when you get to the point where you think you aren't pretty enough with out makeup, you are selling yourself short. You are basically saying to yourself, you aren't good enough and you need help to be good enough. I am not okay with that. You are good enough. Makeup, to me, is there to accentuate your already beautiful features. Maybe a little mascara makes your eyelashes pop or maybe you want to cover up a zit that decided to show up on school picture day. I get that, and I think that it totally fine.
But I hope that when you look in the mirror before you put on your makeup you are able to think, I am beautiful, and actually believe it. Because you are beautiful. There is this whole myth that you have to look a certain way to be considered pretty, and it's honestly a big fat lie if you ask me. Everyone is way to different and unique looking to be able to fit into a mold that some random person decided was beautiful.
You are you. And nobody else can say that; nobody else has your eyes or nose. You are totally one of a kind, and it's important to embrace it.
So, I want to challenge you. If you are someone who wears makeup on a daily basis, I challenge you to join the no makeup revolution. Just try it once and see what happens. And if anyone asks you, why aren't you wearing any makeup, then here is what you can tell them:
Tell them you are embracing who you are and that you know you are beautiful. Tell them that you don't want to hide behind makeup and that you want to stand out because you are one of a kind. Tell them that they are beautiful too.
With that, I will let you go. Thanks for stopping by and remember you can always send me a message! Don't forget to head to the "be free. be you." Facebook page and click the like button!
